Dear Band Parents,
I hope everyone has had a very restful summer. This year is going to be a great one for all. Below is the letters that have been sent home for the 7th and 8th grade band students. The beginners are off to a great start and they are progressing wonderfully. The 5th graders are working on the recorders and are singing in class.

Dear Parents,
The Ricardo Band is preparing for its first football game of the year on Sept. 9th against the King Ranch and Riviera. The games will be played here in Ricardo and everyone is invited to attend. As we prepare for the game, we need to have the proper equipment for the game. The student is required to purchase a football music book titled "Championship Sports Pack". The cost is $5.00 and I ordered them from San Antonio. The price of the Band T-Shirts will be $13.00. Have your son/daughter bring the $5.00 for the book and $13.00 for the T-Shirt to me in the Band Hall so that I can get them ordered soon. The students also need a music lyre and flip folder to hold their music while they play. The music flip folder is optional for most students except for flute players. Percussion, Tuba and Baritone players do not need a lyre but would benefit from having the flip folder. The music lyres and flip folders may be purchased at either Goetsch Music in Kingsville or South Texas Music Mart in Corpus Christi. It is recommended to take the instrument with you at time of purchase to make sure the lyres fit that particular model of instrument. Below is an approximate price list for those items. Please ask your son/daughter as to what equipment they need or feel free to call me at 592-3713(office) or 720-0749(cell) so that I may be of any help. On the following page is a copy of the letter with the football schedule and times to meet. The Emergency Information form fand Permission slip for band has been given to the students and needs to be signed and returned to me. A.S.A.P.
