Rosanna

Rosanna G. Arevalo was elected in the regular May 2006 election.  She is married to Juan A. Arevalo who works for Triton Wireline in Alice, Texas.  They have two daughters, Niki and Alexia Arevalo.  They are also raising a nephew, Zakary Guerrero.  Niki graduated from Ricardo M.S. in May 2006 and is currently attending H.M. King School; Alexia is a Ricardo Elementary student while Zakary is a Ricardo M.S. student.    Rosanna is a homemaker who has always been involved in her children’s education more so now after one of them was diagnosed with dyslexia.   She has previously been the treasurer for the Ricardo Pop Warner football team and the H. M. King High Cheerleader Booster Club and is currently Vice-President for the Ricardo PTO for the last 3 years.   She and her husband are members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and she is currently involved in the St. Vincent de Paul organization with the church.  She credits her interest in her children’s education to her mother who was always involved when she was in school.  Also, she feels that Ricardo School is an excellent school with wonderful teachers, administrators and staff and is very grateful at the education her children have been receiving here and wanted to run for the board to try to give back to the district that has given so much to the community.  All of the teachers and staff are always so helpful and concerned about all the children.  That really impressed me and makes me feel at ease knowing that all the children are well taken care of.  Children are our future and I feel we have to protect them and nurture them and giving them a good education is the best thing you can give any child.
