Our Yellowjackets celebrated the end of an amazing week with a Character Book Dress-Up Day, Character Parade, and Dance Party!
Students brought their favorite book characters to life as they proudly showcased their amazing costumes and the books that inspired their characters during our parade. It was so much fun seeing our students’ creativity, excitement, and love for reading shine throughout the day!
The celebration continued with a Dance Party, giving our students the perfect opportunity to celebrate together and make memories with their classmates.
A huge THANK YOU to all of our parents and families who joined us and helped make this such a special and memorable day for our students. Your support and participation mean so much to our school community!
What a fantastic way to wrap up Red Ribbon Week and Homecoming Week! We are so proud of our Yellowjackets and the wonderful memories we created together.

We are so proud of our Yellowjackets for showing up, being ready to learn, and giving their best every day!
To celebrate the first three weeks of the 2nd Nine Weeks, Ricardo Elementary recognized all of our students who earned Perfect Attendance!
Our students were treated to a refreshing popsicle as a special reward for their dedication and commitment to being at school every day.
Perfect attendance is something to celebrate because every school day matters! Thank you to our students, parents, and staff for working together to make attendance a priority and helping our Yellowjackets build strong habits for success.

3rd Grade Science Classes
Our 3rd grade science students with Mrs. Toerck and Mrs. Cuellar are taking their learning outdoors as they explore the exciting world of gardening and plant growth!
Students learned about what plants need to grow and then had the opportunity to put their knowledge into action. They ventured outside to plant their own seeds, getting hands-on experience with the process of starting and caring for a garden.
Learning, exploring, and making discoveries—our Yellowjackets are always buzzing with curiosity! 🐝

Parents & Guardians,
Please take a moment to remind your student about the importance of bus safety and appropriate behavior while riding the school bus.
🔹 Seatbelts MUST be worn.
Students are expected to wear their seatbelt throughout the entire bus ride. This simple step helps keep our students safe while traveling to and from school.
🔹 Safe and respectful behavior is expected.
Students should follow the bus driver's directions, remain seated, use appropriate voices, and keep their hands, feet, and belongings to themselves. Good behavior helps our bus drivers stay focused on the road and safely transport everyone to and from school.
⚠️ Repeated behavior or safety reports may result in disciplinary consequences, including suspension from riding the school bus or loss of bus riding privileges.
We appreciate our parents and guardians partnering with us to remind students that bus safety is everyone's responsibility! Thank you for helping us keep our Yellowjackets safe! 🐝💙💛

🦠💙 Flu Prevention Tips from Our Nursing Staff! 💛🐝
Flu season is here, and our Ricardo ISD nursing staff wants to help keep our Yellowjackets healthy, happy, and ready to learn!
Here are a few simple ways we can all help prevent the spread of the flu:
🧼 Wash your hands often with soap and water.
🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow.
🚫 Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
💧 Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.
🏠 Stay home when you are sick to help protect others.
🧴 Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
A little prevention goes a long way! Let's work together to keep our students, staff, and families healthy this flu season.
